Maintaining relationships doesn't come naturally
Maintaining relationships doesn't come naturally. Whether it's business relationships, or private relationships, you're going to have to put time and attention into it. Meet up, call, be considerate. And that doesn't mean that you have to turn on (business) every time with a bunch of roses (private) or a notebook from your company. But you do have respect for the other, show interest in her or his questions and needs.

From the people who speak often, you quickly know what they like and don't like. But for the people you speak to less often, it is wise to write down what you have heard and discussed in a simple CRM system. After all, you can't remember it all. And maintaining relationships doesn't come naturally.

That is why it is wise to keep track of what you discuss, what you agree on and when you will contact us again in a simple CRM system. If you do that consistently, you've laid the foundation for a good relationship. After that, of course, you still have to deliver a good product, but if you have a good relationship, it will be a lot easier. If only because you get better feedback, or get feedback at all, to improve your product.

So be sensible, and write down every conversation, meeting, phone call and appointment in a simple CRM system so that you can easily find it again later for the next time.
